Video captured by the Mount Washington Avalanche Center shows a wall of snow racing down the mountain on Christmas Eve.

The Mount Washington Avalanche Center captured a large natural avalanche on camera. It is especially surprising that one of the first federal agencies to come under scrutiny from the incoming administration is one that has returned billions of dollars to many of the same consumers who were counting on leaders in Washington to look out for their wallets.

Vigilance and preparation are important, say forecasters at the NWS, as wintery weather brings hazardous travel conditions.

The National Weather Service extended winter storm warnings in Utah through Saturday. The Wasatch Mountains may receive over 18 inches of snow, causing travel issues. Avalanche danger remains high, with further storms expected between Sunday and Monday.
