Schools have been closed since Wednesday, as Milton approached Florida's west coast with a wide wind and rain field and an uncertain path through the center of the state. In an email to parents Tuesday evening, Superintendent Mike Burke said he was aiming to announce by Thursday night whether schools would reopen Friday.
