The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for parts of the Southeast due to high winds and low humidity.
The NWS Blacksburg VA issued an updated weather alert at 3:48 a.m. on Saturday for fire danger until 8 p.m. The alert is for Ashe, Alleghany and Watauga counties.
On Friday, officials issued a burn ban until further notice in the state, saying breezy conditions and low humidity in the air would make it ideal for a small fire to get out of control quickly.
