A NASA orbiter has captured a stunning image of a giant volcano on Mars. The panorama, captured on May 2 by NASA’s Mars Odyssey orbiter, shows Arsia Mons, one of the largest volcanos on the Red Planet.

NASA's 2001 Mars Odyssey might have concluded its primary mission more than two decades ago, but it's still racking up scientific contributions. On May 2, the orbiter obtained a never-before-seen look at Arsia Mons, one of the Red Planet's largest volcanoes at more than 12 miles high.
