Police have made 19 arrests over firework offences between Halloween and Bonfire Night, with more expected in the coming days. Six people have been charged under the Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Articles Act and 26 further charges have been made for related criminal behaviour.

There were scenes of chaos in east Manchester on Tuesday night (November 5) as police were pelted with fireworks by a huge group of youths in the street. A large mob of between 20 to 30 teenagers are understood to have built a 'barricade' on Vine Street, in Gorton, with wooden pallets and mattresses.

Police are looking to trace three suspects after a man was attacked on an Ayrshire street. The incident took place on Kilmarnock’s Welbeck Street at around 5.15pm on Bonfire Night. The 20-year-old victim was approached by three men wearing dark clothing before being assaulted.
