A man who might've been the last person to see a missing University of Pittsburgh student in the Dominican Republic said he rescued her from drowning — only for her to vanish a short time later, according to a transcript of an interview he gave local authorities.

Authorities have ramped up their efforts by air, sea and land to track down the 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student who went missing six days ago while vacationing in the Dominican Republic resort town of Punta Cana.

Interpol has issued a global alert for University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki who went missing in the Dominican Republic more than a week ago. Police say they're now investigating all possibilities of what could have happened to the 20-year-old.
