The incident happened on Lap 12 at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal. Hamilton, who was racing hard in the middle of the pack, didn’t see the animal until it was too late.
The Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve is known for its Wall of Champions, overtake-happy chicane, and local rodent population.
