Denver and the Eastern Plains are forecast to see windy, cold weather throughout Tuesday as temperatures drop 10 to 15 degrees before normal, NWS forecasters said.

After a mild start to the week, snow and colder temperatures are moving into Denver's weather forecast Tuesday.

Temperatures will still surge to the 40s and 50s. A cold front will push through Colorado Monday night into Tuesday. This will bring a surge of cold air and snow showers to the state for the day on Tuesday.

Gusty winds expected in higher elevations on Monday could cause blowing snow and white-out conditions for drivers on mountain passes, forecasters said.

After a few quick snowflakes on the Front Range Tuesday, sunshine returns with breezy winds and cooler highs. Light snow will linger in the mountains.
