Fireworks, objects and missiles were aimed at the public, officers and traffic with chaos breaking out in Niddrie, Calder Road, Gracemount and Moredun - terrifying locals.

One officer, who was injured when a brick was thrown through the window of her vehicle in Edinburgh on Halloween, was hurt during the operation, which ran throughout October and November. During the same period in 2023, 62 officers were injured by fireworks and other projectiles.

The incident, which was captured on Tuesday night, is understood to have happened in the Gracemount area of Edinburgh.

Eyewitness reports came after police confirmed officers are executing stop and search orders in three Edinburgh communities on November 5 - Niddrie, Moredun and Gracemount.

Officers have been given powers to help prevent disorder during a Bonfire Night which has seen fireworks thrown at police.
