The Iowa football team acquired its second transfer player of the week in former Chattanooga receiver Sam Phillips. The fourth-year wideout will join the Hawkeyes for his final season of eligibly in 2025,

Iowa football’s revamped quarterback room was punctuated by former South Dakota State star Mark Gronowski announcing his commitment to the Hawkeyes on Tuesday. Over the last few months, that position group has undergone serious remodeling.

One of the Iowa Hawkeyes‘ offensive targets is off the board. Iowa was reportedly set to host former Northern Illinois wide receiver Cam Thompson for a visit Jan. 9-10, but that’s off the table following Thompson’s commitment to Mississippi State.

Sam Phillips will join the Hawkeyes after four years with Chattanooga, where he racked up 153 career receptions for 2,088 yards. He set a freshman school record in 2022 with 44 receptions.
