American Vice President JD Vance visited India with his family. The trip aimed to boost economic ties between the two nations. Vance toured various cultural sites, including the Akshardham Temple and the Taj Mahal.

He stated that President Trump aims to rebalance trade not just for India but also to pursue a stronger future with U.S. allies. Vance sees the agreement as helping create deeper, sustained collaboration among nations in energy, defense, and technology, which will be mutually beneficial to the U.S. and India.

United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Tuesday said that US is "very close" on a trade deal with India, adding that it is much easier to negotiate with New Delhi due to its high tariffs. He also said that the trade negotiations with India are "moving well" and that non-tariff barriers can be "much more insidious" than tariff barriers.
