Desert OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Orion Road in Oakland Township has been closed indefinitely after flooding washed a large chunk of it away near Dutton Road. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.

“Please be advised that Orion Road just south of Dutton Road will be closed until further notice due to yesterday’s flooding,” Oakland Township posted on its website.

Oakland County Road Commission spokeswoman Cindy Dingell said torrential rains in Oakland Township on Wednesday, July 16, caused Paint Creek to crest, overwhelming a culvert beneath Orion Road.
