McLaren didn’t have the kind of weekend it expected in Montreal and must adjust in order to keep its rivals at bay.
With a couple of weeks to go until the Austrian Grand Prix, the dust can settle following a chaotic end to the race in Montreal. The notable storylines are mostly centred around McLaren, after Lando Norris crashed into the back of team-mate Oscar Piastri with four laps remaining.

Lando Norris’ chances at the 2025 Formula 1 championship took a massive hit in Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix. Norris crashed himself out of the race when he inexplicably tried to pass McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri for fourth place with less than five laps left.

F1 championship leader Oscar Piastri lost out in the early stages of the Canadian Grand Prix, whilst Alex Albon went flying off the track. Max Verstappen and George Russell managed to get past Turn 1 cleanly, with the Mercedes star maintaining his lead ahead of the champion.
