Apr 21, 2021 · Curry has served as head coach for the Detroit Pistons and Florida Atlantic, and brings more than 20 years of basketball experience as a coach, player and front office executive. With the new additions to the staff, Damany Hendrix will serve as the director of player development and Faragi Phillips takes on the role of director of player personnel.

The 2023-24 season is the fifth for Jerry Stackhouse leading the resurgence of the Vanderbilt men’s basketball program. He was named the program’s 28th head coach on April 5, 2019.

After leading James Madison to its most successful four-season stretch in over 30 years, highlighted by a victory in the NCAA Tournament last weekend, Mark Byington was named men’s basketball head coach at Vanderbilt on March 25 by Vice Chancellor for Athletics and University Affairs and Athletic Director Candice Storey Lee.

Most recently, Curry spent the 2020-21 season on the coaching staff at the University of Georgia. During his playing career, Curry spent six of his 11 NBA seasons with the Pistons which included 33 playoff games and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2002-03.

Kenneth Mangrum joined the Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball coaching staff in August 2024 as an assistant coach. Mangrum previously served as the associate head coach at New Mexico State for the 2023-24 season.
