Use your fallen leaves to make free compost. It’s so easy. The leaves will decompose quicker if you chop them up first. I use my lawn mower to drive over them and break the leaves up. Compost made from just fallen leaves is called leaf mould. Leaf mould is usually quite low in nutrients but it’s a lovely product to add to potting mixtures or use as a mulch on the surface of the soil or on plants in containers. I only take leaves from off my driveway. Do leave some of the leaves for the wildlife.
