This is the Chinese aircraft carrier Fujian, it has successfully used an electro magnetic launch system to propel aircraft off the deck. According the the PLAN, they have used this on a J-35 stealth, a J-15ST multi role fighter, and the KJ-600 early warning aircraft. The electromagnetic catapult allows for greater range, and heavier payloads for aircraft. They are now the second nation behind the USA with this technology.
